The comfort of a cup of fine tea
As life unfolds, it is comforting to be able to rely on a core of certainty amidst all the agitation. Tea has played this role for me, ever since I ‘discovered’ it some twenty years ago. Whatever the circumstances, making some fine tea is a simple and satisfying ritual.
With gently comforting tea I am offering my own subjective way of appreciating and understanding tea. The products selected in the store are an accumulation of my tea experiences and represent my personal preferences. It is a pleasure to be able to share this interest with you, wherever you are. I hope you enjoy my teas, and that they become a part of your own tea journey!
A life studying and enjoying tea
At times it felt that tea was leading me, and deciding on the direction my life was going. Tea has literally taken me to live for years on another continent. Nowadays my relationship with tea is more like an old friendship: I know it pretty well and do not feel the need to explore each and every of its aspects before I have a cup. It is just here when I need it, which is most days.
There have been many iterations of my tea offerings and some of you might have come upon my previous tea endeavours. What has never changed, is my inclination for Anhua Dark Tea. Its ability to age and mellow over time; its comforting taste and feeling; its relative ease of storage are some of the many reasons why I like it more than any other tea. dark leaves & golden flowers is a blog, where I explore further my appreciation of Anhua Dark Tea.
Quality instead of quantity
Anhua Dark Tea comes in a big spectrum of quality and availability. At gently comforting tea I specialize in what I would call ‘artisanal’ products. There is no mass produced tea from one of the big factories in the online shop. All the teas in my selection come from producers I have come to know over the years, and whose products appeal to me.
Shipping
- I am currently located in Switzerland. This is where I store my teas, and from where I ship them.
- The teas are shipped with Swiss Post.
- I try to keep the shipping costs as transparent and staightforward as possible. At the moment there is a worldwide flat fee of 10 CHF.
- Free shipping is available with orders of 50 CHF and higher.
